“Obviously, the internet has become a tool we all use every single day, it is indispensible. This is the same with its effect on the wedding industry,” says Joanna Cade Russo, who with her husband founded the online honeymoon registry Sendusoff.com in 2005. There, wedding guests can contribute to a couple’s honeymoon; from plane tickets, to meals out, and sightseeing. “Nine out of ten brides now use the internet to plan their wedding and honeymoon,” she says.
Virtually every single aspect of the wedding has now moved online. A stylish bride might once have started by picking up the phone and making an appointment at Vera Wang. Now her first instinct is to start typing “www”. Considering the vast resources available, fashion-forward gowns to purchase online, to-die-for accessories, and research and planning I could do from my PDA, it’s enough to make a girl want to get married all over again.
