Although he is diminutive in stature, you can tell instantly that fashion stylist PJ Pascual is larger than life. Fresh from a Starbucks run, Pascual bounds into his lobby with enough energy to wake a sleeping giant. But when he opens the door to his apartment, my eyes immediately fall on the pink Christian Louboutin pumps ever-so-casually strewn in his living room. And then there are the shoeboxes. Piles and piles of shoeboxes, labeled and Polaroided, filled with PJs personal collection of footwear (sorry, ladies). I notice he displays cuff bracelets as artwork.

To say that the Filipino native has made his American dream come true is an understatement. After lusting after his mother’s and sisters’ clothing for years, Pascual left business studies - and Manila - to garner another degree, this time from the Fashion Institute of Technology. He interned for Betsey Johnson, Cynthia Rowley and Luca Luca, and later climbed the ranks as an editor at O and Harper’s Bazaar. But when he connected with socialite and reality TV starlet Tinsley Mortimer at the Philosophy S/S ‘10 show in September 2009, his career as a full-blown personal stylist took off.
