Austrian artist Lies Maculan’s pop-up art installation held Manhattan’s art, fashion and dream worlds under rapture at its opening this month. Labeled simply “The Dream Shop,” Maculan appears to have achieved the impossible and physically shelved the amorphous “children of an idle brain.” Sorry, Mercutio, looks like a surreal net has indeed been cast on a subconscious mindscape. A perfect recipe for a cerebral cocktail, or will Shakespeare have the last laugh?
