of Hollywood glamour, and has quickly become a favorite amongst the New York girls. Designer Nicole Hanley, entrepreneur Annie Churchill, green activist Ula Parker, and partner Frederick Anderson joined Hannant in hosting an elegant cocktail reception and dinner.  The Palm Court glittered with Hannant’s loyal fan and supporters including Tinsley Mortimer, Barbara Bancroft, Somers Farkas, and even former mayor Rudy Guiliani.  Long time friend and supporter Annie Churchill exclusively shared: “What I find amazing about Douglas's clothes is that there is something for everyone's shape and personality, but they let the woman shine through and add her own style to them.
The cocktail was compromised of an amazing group of all of Douglas and Frederick's many fans, and there was nothing but love and positive energy in the room. They deserve all the success in the world. They're hard workers who have great talent, integrity and tenacity. Hats off to my lovely, loyal friends." Weaving dreams in reality is a feat, and in Hannant’s case recognition and heartfelt appreciation is the ultimate valentine.

Cruising up Park Avenue, the New York premiere of Fay Ann Lee’s “Falling for Grace,” presented by Shanghai Tang, Solerno Liqueur, and Evergreen Café, was the manifestation

of Lee’s dream to provide more leading roles for Asian American actors. When Hollywood would not purchase the screenplay unless the main character’s ethnicity was changed from Asian American to Caucasian or Hispanic, Lee pursued her vision with a singular passion. She raised three million dollars to act and produce in a film which sold out every showing at the Tribeca Film Festival and continues to open nationally. Asia Society and NYWIFT proudly greeted a dazzling guest list, which included designers Angel Sanchez and Thuy Diep, IMG’s Fern Mallis, and actors Kathleen Turner and Gale Harold.  Whoopi Goldberg introduced the film and had the audience in splits, commenting dryly “I’m not in the film but Fay is and she’s the next best thing.”  After the film, which many guests dubbed “the next My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” a Q&A was led by the Honorable David Dinkins and the influx of enthusiastic praise and support all pointed to Lee’s triumph.

For these innovators – the designers, the producers, the creators – boundaries do not exist and pursuing a dream is the loftiest of pursuits.  For them it is eternally Valentine’s Day as every effort made towards realizing the dream stems from an act of personal passion.  How will you leave your mark? Let your answer shine this Valentine’s Day and usher in a new spirit of love.
