Provocateur Nightclub
Michael Satsky and Brian Gefter (think Lily Pond, East Hampton) have created the ultimate virtual Valentine for every woman: a nightlife venue targeted directly to female sensibilities. Just like a Reese’s, designer Lion Ohayon and ICRAVE (think Koi, STK, Hyde, W Hotels) know that good things come in two: Provocateur Café and Provocateur Nightclub. The café décor is created to resemble the rooms of a European dollhouse, and also features floral swings and imported European “Betula Pendula,” a form of silver birch. The food menu is made up of light Japanese fare including signature dishes from Tanuki Tavern, the new concept restaurant in the adjacent hotel. Two black chandeliers, designed by Netherland’s Edward Van Viliet, hang from the ceilings, and the most defining design feature of all are the set of mythical Egyptian Phoenix Wings, spanning 20 feet and suspended above the bar. For those seeking seclusion, there is an 80-person private balcony skybox overlooking the entire venue.
