New Museum
Though founded in 1977 by Marcia Tucker, the New Museum opened its first freestanding dedicated building in December of 2007 on the Bowery at Prince Street on the Lower East Side and is the only museum in New York City entirely dedicated to exhibiting contemporary art from around the globe. Always on the edge, with a mission to provide new art and new ideas, the New Museum hosts an array of educational seminars and a mélange of new and innovative exhibitions.
