SUNO Hits The Web With New e-Commerce Experience

Right on the heals of airing our complaints that some brands have been slow to hit the web, we’ve learned that SUNO – the house whose Kenyan prints and textiles make us swoon every season – has launched an e-commerce boutique.

Erin Beatty, SUNO’s head designer, collaborated closely with Matthew Daniel Siskin, creative director of interactive design studio designedmemory to ensure that every digital design element reflected SUNO’s off-line design, from the color palette and print to the original artwork.

“Our website reflects the vision of the brand; where we have been creatively and where we would like to go,” shared Beatty in a press release.  “It creates a platform that allows customers to understand the way we work, who we are, and what we are trying to achieve.  Eventually they can see the workshops we work with, the places we travel and most importantly, what inspires us.  We hope the website allows people a look into SUNO and our team, further understanding what we do, how we do it and why.”

The site, up since Monday, April 4^th, features pieces from the Resort and Spring 2011 collections, as well as product pairings by SUNO’s creative director Max Osterweis. Upon checkout, he will make recommendations such as what book or music will go best with your new SUNO swimsuit, or what may go best with printed black-tie attire. Soon, you’ll even get SUNO travel guides!
