Juxtaposition Exposition: City and Art in a Tête-à-Tête

Bold or neutral? Mini or maxi? Stiletto or kitten heel? From nuns in feathers and leathers at Rick Owens to hunchbacks at Comme des Garcons, the Fall 2010 runways demonstrated the power of provocative juxtapositions.  Following his exhibition In Geneva No One Can Hear You Scream, Marc Jancou is inviting Parisians to two weeks of unexpected artistic encounters along both banks of the Seine.

Rive Gauche/Rive Droite features 27 international artists including Americans Meredith James, Jim Shaw, and Sterling Ruby.  Observers are invited to consider how the pieces are influenced by one another and by their display. They will be exhibited in six exclusive spaces including Azzedine Alaia, the Catherine Houard Gallery, and famed shop of curiosities and taxidermy Deyrolle.

With this series of exhibitions, Jancou celebrates dynamic discovery and unexpected encounters in world capitals.  Get your passport ready! Shows are planned in Brussels, Madrid, Antwerp, and Seville.
