Jason Wu Awarded Future of Fashion Award at YMA FSF Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner

It was a young and stylish crowd at the Waldorf Astoria last week, where over 900 guests celebrated the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund’s 75^th anniversary at the highly anticipated annual Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner.

CNN correspondent, Alina Cho hosted the exciting night, where the FSF granted 126 college students $5,000 scholarships, supporting their future in the fashion community. But the awards didn’t end there – four students were each awarded $30,000 for the Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship and the four runner-ups, $10,000.

Jason Wu accepting the Future of Fashion Award and the original cast of Jersey Boys giving a special performance, provided a special touch to an already rewarding night for a talented bunch including Karlie Kloss, Anja Rubik, Bridget Foley, Kate Young, Meredith Melling Burke, Tom Hutton and YMA President Jimmy Rosenfeld.

For budding fashion designers, the YMA FSF, a national non-profit organization, is the ticket into the competitive world of design, business, retailing and merchandising. Scholars intern for companies like Macy’s, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren and receive mentorship from top executives.

The banquet was networking at its best, bringing together designers who each have a unique story to share with the world.
