Bird Watching

If you’re an avid follower of the National Geographic Channel, like me, you’ll know this time of year roughly 10,000 birds are crossing the Israeli skyline every day, as part of their annual migration South of the equator to enjoy some warm weather.

Thus sprung the eternal bond between birds and springtime, a bond which Miu Miu has taken note of.

Since Miu Miu introducted their Spring/Summer 2010 collection, it seems we’ve all been chirping for some bird print everything. Their incredible satin platforms, which come in a bevy of Spring-ready hues, will surely take over the stylish streets of New York very, very soon.

Israelis love their platforms, too!  However, we tend to stick to solid colors and single textures when it comes to shoes, rather than go for bold prints.

Whilst I don’t foresee too many bird infused chaussures on the feets of glamorous Israeli fashionistas, every other body part is up for discussion!  The sun has barely come out in the Northern hemisphere and already we’re seeing more and more birds flying about on fabrics and garments, ready to give your look a shot of quirkiness.

Start small – a bright pouch, perhaps – and then try to incorporate the innovative piece with more attention grabbing pieces, such as a blouse, a dress, or my personal Spring favorite – a romper.
