Alice Temperley has blazoned a British trail in the world of feminine fashion to the resounding applause of editors and fashionistas alike. And while her sweetly soft and pointedly pretty silhouettes evoke images of English garden parties and teas at the Ritz, it’s her sublime hues and signature fabrics that truly inspire her following.

A permanent fixture on the catwalks since 2003, Temperley has presented one-of-a-kind shows to eager and excited crowds. But it’s with a renewed change in direction that she unveils a different plan, this year showcasing her autumn/winter collection via a multimedia installation that’ll fuse together both her whimsical clothing and the modern technology that’s often underutilized in the world of high fashion.


In a bid to reach a wider audience, Temperley will debut an installation in New York on February 17th and 18th in collaboration with her website that’ll compromise a series of films. Directed by Magnus Dennis and photographed by Josh Olins, this new venture will also accompany a live presentation of her collection, which will undoubtedly be a sensational success.

Twenty8Twelve Showdown

Fans of Sienna and Savannah Miller’s line of eclectically boho come vintage clothing, Twenty8Twelve, will surely flag a taxi to Cromwell Road when London Fashion Week’s final February 09′ schedule comes out. Yes, the sister’s fall 09′ collection makes its debut on the catwalks this winter for the first time in five seasons, marking a decidedly younger dip in the typically stoic lineup of designers showing in London.

Heralded as British fashion favorites, Sienna and Savannah have secured a prime-time showing following other design notables, Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, and Danielle Scutt.

Revealing that the strength of their collections–through consistent buyer and press attention–helped propel them into this new foray, the Miller’s confessed that their inclusion this year was just a matter of being the right time and place. In a joint statement they say, “Twenty8Twelve is now in it’s fifth season and we just felt it was ready to be taken to a new level.

Surely a favorite on the calendar for curiosity and celebrity alike, the show is tentatively scheduled for February 22nd, with the location to be determined. Promising to showcase a parade of luxurious daywear–clothes the girls say they love to wear themselves–we can expect to see trademarks like tailored vests and tees, slim-fitting trousers, soft, structured dresses, and accessories to literally weep over. All in all, things you’d expect to see Sienna wearing as she struts her way through Notting Hill Gate.
