YIGAL AZROUEL, DESIGNER "My favorite beach is Playa Negra in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I started going there about seven years ago with my friend Erez Sabag, an early discoverer of this special surf beach. I bought land there a few years ago and am in the process of building a house. The beach is so rustic and unique; it has black sand from the volcanoes of Costa Rica. It also has one of the most beautiful surf breaks I have ever surfed." PM says: Costa Rica became a bona fide fashion destination after Gisele built her summer hideaway here. Guanacaste on the western coast of Costa Rica has dramatic beaches, volcanic mountains and huge ocean swells that attract avid surfers, hikers, horseback riders and nature lovers. The area appeals to the more active fashion crowd. It’s not a spot to "fly and flop".
