of bars and restaurants. I am a total foodie-glutton so getting a table right away is excellent! My husband teases me that for a New Yorker I've never been to some tourist attractions, like the top of the Empire State building, so we're going to attack this to-do list.
What are you most excited about this month?
April is my birthday month and I always kick into gear the minute the sun comes out. I'm going into the studio to record my next album, and I'm in the planning stages of a tour for the fall with the beautiful Danish singer, CALLmeKAT. It's always busy in Alexa-land.
What is your inspiration for the album?
My inspiration this time is about the self -- about things by yourself. I feel like so much of the music right now feels very, well, produced. My album will be all about acoustics and I'll be using a vintage keyboard and instruments.
How are you celebrating your birthday?
By playing a show! I'll be performing at Rockwood Music Hall on April 27 at 7pm. It's become a tradition, as I'm superstitious that you should do on your birthday what you want to be doing the coming year.
