German photographer Juergen Teller is known for his commercial fashion photography, from his work on the Marc Jacobs ad campaigns and collaborations with designers such as Helmut Lang and Vivienne Westwood, to his extensive work for magazines. And we love his autobiographical un-commissioned works (how cute is his son, Ed?). But what we want to know is: what do you mean when you say Kate Moss is "naughty," and how on earth did you get Charlotte Rampling naked?
You are often attributed to blazing a trail in the world of fashion photography and saving it from the mundane – how do you feel about such a high credit? I don't really mind it! I just concentrate on what I want to do - I'm not quite sure it's necessarily the healthiest thing to start listening to what critics say. You should just concentrate on what you want to do, and just do it.
Do you happen to actually enjoy fashion, or do you just photograph it?
I do enjoy it very much, I find it very amusing. It’s a dead serious business and there is a lot of money involved in it,
