As co-founder of Moda Operandi, Lauren Santo Domingo is taking the fashion industry - and the e-commerce world - by storm. Her just-launched site allows members to buy styles from top designers, including Prabal Gurung, Narciso Rodriguez, Thakoon, and Proenza Schouler, within 48 hours of the collections' runway debut. Santo Domingo recently talked with PinkMemo about style icons, the future of fashion, and her timely online trunk shows.

PinkMemo: What inspired you to create Moda Operandi? Lauren Santo Domingo: I was tired of falling in love with a piece from a runway show and then not being able to find it in stores. [Co-founder] Aslaug [Magnusd] and I have wanted to work together for a long time. She's actually the one who came up with the idea of doing online designer trunk shows, and I immediately thought it was genius. Personally, I love the most outrageous looks that go down the runway, and Moda Operandi finally gives women a chance to buy these pieces.
