We are usually not even halfway through our pitch when [designers] ask where they can sign up.
regarding which pieces resonate most with their consumers. [That] will better inform the orders from traditional retailers. So in the end I think it will help some department stores. I also think that there will always be the consumer who prefers relying on the edits made by the retailer. Moda Operandi is really catering to the woman who is passionate about fashion and knows that she wants something more special and personal.
PM: What's on your must-have list for spring? LSD: We are already thinking Fall 2011. So I would say a cocktail dress from Prabal Gurung, platforms from Charlotte Olympia, earrings from Anita Ko, and a VBH clutch.
PM: Many consider you a style icon. Who do you admire? LSD: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Nan Kempner are my fashion icons.
PM: You're expecting your first child next month. How has that changed your style/wardrobe choices? LSD: I am wearing a lot more flats than normal, and I switched all my beauty products to all natural and organic.
PM: You created an "expert guide to entertaining" for Tory Burch. What's your best recipe?
