Red Carter:
His sexy swimwear exudes Miami confidence
DALLAS | STYLE | 06.03.2010 | Nadia Dabakkeh.
Never underestimate the power of the perfect swimsuit; even the itsy-bitsiest bikini speaks volumes about both your personal style and your lifestyle. Zip-front racerback? Probably partaking in water sports. Glittering gold accents? Sipping caipirinhas in a cabana. Wild prints? Going from swimming to dancing as soon as the sun sets.
In hopes of simplifying the seasonal search for your second skin, we checked in with three swimwear designers for insider tips, trends and inspiration.
Red Carter: Form and Function | "What would I want to wear if I were a good girl, and what would I want to wear if I was a bad girl?"
Those are the questions Miami-based designer Red Carter asks himself before creating a swimsuit.
Carter’s inspiration comes largely from classic films: Bond girl Ursula Andress, Russ Myers’ 1960s go-go dancers and the opening of Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!, or anything Frankie & Annette.
