DALLAS | SHOP | 02.03.2011 | Nadia Dabbakeh.   We thought we’d stop telling you how much we love, love, love Resort (with designers releasing their whimsical wiles, who wouldn’t?) and go straight to Dallas’ best to fawn all over them for us. Who better than the very people who put clothes on our backs to tell us what we need to buy now - and wear...always?
Brian Bolke | Forty Five Ten: It’s back to the classics, specifically Narciso Rodriguez’s all-American throwback. “He played it very neutral, but in store there are bold cherry reds and pure aqua as well. Great sexy stretch cotton dresses that hold you in, and amazing cotton poplin trapeze dresses that are effortless. He also played with traditional menswear patterns, but made into quintessential 'Narciso' shapes, and what looked like wool was really featherweight stretch cotton.” Along with urban sportswear, Bolke liked the designer’s blast to the past with a remake of that frenzy-fueling bias-cut blush dress Kate Moss wore to Cannes way back when - that is, when she (and everyone else!) was dating Johnny Depp…
Nini Nguyen | Stylist and Creative Director of Nha Khanh: What has managed to catch this stylista's eye this season? Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi of Preen’s “Brigitte Bardot with a twist of boyish charm" aesthetic. “The collection is wearable for the cruise season and perfectly transforms into the spring. The suede grey high-waisted pants are so yummy that I had to add them to my wish list. I can see myself wearing them seven days a week with a range of different tops, from a vintage corset to a classic crisp white button-down and a pair of Christian Louboutin chunky clogs."
Liz Thompson | V.O.D Boutique: Forced to transition between beaches and icy streets, Zero + Maria Cornejo’s easy-to-wear collection has hit the radar of this boutique owner. “She references her many travels in her designs, and you can see this in her signature laid-back 'island girl' style. I really like the vibrant color blocking and great mix-and-match pieces that you can wear from day to night with ease, especially on a trip. She really understands what can be packed, and you get the feeling that you can throw anything from this collection in a suitcase and just pull it on and look wonderful.” Ditto on that thought – with a quick shoe change, Cornejo’s collection wins Best Travel Wardrobe.
