Live by Your Own Design
Thursday, May 1st, the Fashion Industry Gallery will host a book launch party for Style Statement: Live by Your Own Design authors Carrie McCarthy and Danielle LaPorte. These co-authors pride themselves on helping you get inspired to live more authentically by your own personalized Style Statement. Is your style ‘Sophisticated Fresh’ or ‘Natural Radiance’? These girls and their book will help you find your way to more confidence, better decision-making and the best possible you. If you haven’t yet purchased this new book that will change your life? Jewels in the JungleGo green, give back, and get jewelry! On Friday, May 16th, The Fashionistas will host an event entitled “Jewels in the Jungle” benefiting Caring Hands, an organization from Uganda. Caring Hands employs women who make beautiful African bracelets, necklaces, and anklets out of recycled paper. “Jewels in the Jungle” will be held at One Arts Plaza from 8pm to 10:30 pm. The theme of the evening will be Jungle design while promoting “green” consciousness. Enjoy African-themed food, music, and displays of Caring Hands jewelry, while watching videos of the organization at work. General Admission tickets are $25. There are also tickets on sale for $75 that includes a “Runway” level membership to The Fashionistas and access to the VIP after-party at Ghostbar. The auction will include fabulous items from Legendary Women including Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, Nancy Lieberman and Ebby Halliday, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. The glamorous event will feature many celebrity guests, live entertainment, and a showcase of items from Mrs. Knowles House of Deréon Collection.
