Speaking of repetition, on her second-ever Dallas visit, Jennifer Lancaster served as the guest author of this year’s Community Partners of Dallas’ Chick Lit Luncheon at the Brook Hollow Country Club, chaired by Jennifer Tobin with honorary chairs Lara and Dr. Robert Tafel. After some heart-wrenching stories of neglected children in local Dallas homes, Lancaster lifted the mood with hilarious tales and excerpts from her novels, including Bitter is the New Black. Attendees Anne Stodghill, D’Andra Simmons, Rhonda Sargent Chambers, Angela Nash, Diane Johnston, Nicole Dabbert, Dawn Spalding, and Doris Jacobs, dressed in an array of bright printed shifts and floral skirts, continued to donate to the cause throughout the luncheon leaving with warm hearts and with signed copies of Lancaster’s bestsellers..
Yes, women in Dallas certainly breezed through the spring social season as if it was their own personal runway. And now, it’s time to revel in the aftermath of party pics while bringing out the beach towels for those fabulous summer vacations we’ve been dreaming of all year. For those of you who have plans to linger in our steamy city for the summer scene, there’s a promising mix of chic soirees to come. Though, I must say, I’m crossing my Lippmann painted toes that most are poolside!
