DALLAS | SCENE | 05.20.2010 | Haley Schultheis.   It was a hopeful spring. As CoCo Chanel once declared: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

With the PEEK and WISH Auction at the Dallas Contemporary, the unabashedly posh Stiletto Strut at two Neiman Marcus locations, a taste to remember at Taste of the Nation, and, of course, our ever-favorite Chick Lit luncheon, the lovely ladies of Dallas donned fine frocks and slowly began to ready themselves for another sweet (albeit sultry) Southern summer. A strong sense of confidence was derived this season from the multitude of fashion-forward events, as well as the star-studded celebrity chef Taste of the Nation event on May 16th, focusing on the power of the palate.

Michael Cain, Melinna McKinnon, Lucian LaBarba, Chad Willis, and Chuck Steelman gathered for the 2010 Taste of the Nation at the Hotel Palomar, benefiting Share Our Strength, the non-profit that works to fight childhood hunger. Chaired by Terri Provencal, the dazzling evening hosted
