The event commenced with a Mother-Daughter fashion show including Kenya and Chanel Flowers followed by a spring fashion show produced and directed by Jan Strimple and hosted by Stanley Korshak, featured both classic and whimsical looks from the likes of Lela Rose, Ports 1961, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, and more. Guests ceremoniously applauded the movingly inspirational speeches from Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award Winner GiGi Potter and Spirit of Tom Landry Character Award Recipient Zach Rigby.
The start of 2010 has also been artfully inspirational as the Dallas Contemporary celebrated its opening on February 6th with the exhibit Warnings & Instructions and an appearance from the artist James Gilbert at the contemporary art space’s new location on 161 Glass Street in the Design District. Over 1,000 guests including board members Capitol Campaign Chair Beth Ewing, Jo Marie Lilly, Mark Giambrone, and Amy Klion and guests Kristin Radakovich, JB Hayes, and James Cope who attended to congratulate the Dallas Contemporary on its new home.
The second annual Dallas Art Fair at F.I.G. from February 6th-8th, opened with a Preview Gala on Thursday evening benefiting the Booker T. Washington High School for Visual and Performing Arts.
