On Thursday, June 10th, the Junior League of Dallas raised their glasses at Gallerie Zuger with gallery owner Robert Wilburn at the theme announcement party with the 2010-2011 ball chair, D'Andra Simmons. After a successful rockstar theme, the Junior League has decided to tour Africa, announcing the 2010-2011 ball theme to be "Into Africa," attributed to Simmons' love for the exotic continent. In keeping with the theme, the auction and casino party will be "Casino Casablanca," and the spring fashion show "Catwalk through Kilamanjaro." Guests Nancy Gopez, Kris Johnson, Doris Jacobs Ogle, Teffy Jacobs, Carmaleta Whiteley, and Katy and Lawrence Bock sipped champagne and admired the bold-colored contemporary paintings adorning the gallery, which provided a perfect backdrop for the lively event. Spirits were top notch and the Junior League of Dallas and guests are readying themselves for one unforgettable safari.
Unforgettable revelry also commenced on the evening of June 12th at Paws in the City's Top Hat & Top Tails fundraising event, held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field, with honorary chairs Samantha Reid, Andrea Alcorn, and Nancy Latner and event chair Becky Haisma. The attire was black-tie, with over 650 guests given the additional option to embrace the party's 1950's theme via their wardrobes.
