April 9th marked the Heroes and Handbags brunch at The Ritz Carlton supporting children battling cancer and their families. The chic brunch continued with a silent auction featuring sparkling spring and summer-worthy handbags perused by host Larissa Linton, chair Jennifer Dix, and guests Alison Doherty, Shelly Rosenberg, Lara Briggs, Tiffany Cuban, Angela Ruble, Lara Tafel, Renee Rouleau, and William Lanier.
The late legendary Editor Diana Vreeland once said, “A new dress doesn't get you anywhere; it's the life you're living in the dress, and the sort of life you had lived before, and what you will do in it later." And, with the amount of giving this spring has bestowed upon those most in need, our city’s amazingly generous women have proved that whether in their day dresses, evening gowns, 1920’s vintage, or that simple trench coat, it’s true that the power of threads comes from the prowess of their wearer. Wear-good, do-good, feel-good? Vreeland would be proud.
