MTV RE:DEFINE Aids+Art Gala Returns to the Goss Michael Foundation

If you missed MTV RE:DEFINE last year, you can makeup for it this year.  The Goss Michael Foundation and The MTV Staying Alive Foundation host the second annual MTV RE:DEFINE an Aids benefit and Art Exhibition and Auction, next Saturday, September 22^nd. But, if you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, better get artistically snappy with it, only ten days left, and they’re selling faster than a Damien Hirst exclusive.

Chaired again by the beautiful duo Jessica Olsson and Anna-Sophia Van Zweden, the challenge is on to surpass last year’s sold out VIP event, which raised over $700,000 for the charity, and showcased a live performance by The Boxer Rebellion.  This year, the captivating auctioneer Simon de Pury from Phillips de Pury returns to tantalize guests with his intoxicating skills, and the Brits are also back, Ed Bartlett and Paul Missing from The Future Tense.

They’ve curated another exceptional collection of exclusive auction items from artists such as (I follow Ed on instagram, check this out) Michael Craig-Martin, Ralf Kaspers, Jim Houser, Gerard Rancinan, Ryan McGuiness, Charming Baker, Chuck Elliot, and Jen Stark.  Guest will also enjoy a painting performance by artist David White—musical performance is soon to be announced so stay tuned!

It’s a double whammy in the design district that evening the Dallas Contemporary will also host the exhibition opening for Pretty Much Everything: Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin—the famed-photographers have kindly donated an item to the MTV RE:DEFINE silent auction.  I will be double dipping, first stop the Dallas Contemporary, and then MTV RE:DEFINE—comfortable shoes are not an option.

The MTV RE:DEFINE exhibition opens to the public Thursday, September 12^th, and the VIP gala auction will be hosted on Saturday, September 22^nd. You can purchase tickets online at MTV RE:DEFINE.
