FIVE AND TEN BOUTIQUE OPENS IN HIGHLAND PARK VILLAGE

If you know and love Forty Five Ten, then you will certainly be charmed by Brian Bolke’s new venture in Highland Park Village, Five and Ten. Tucked away in the space next to Deno’s (a HP Village veteran), Five and Ten is expertly curated, and every inch of the small space exudes the chic sophistication of Forty Five Ten but with a more eclectic and casual feel. The name, Five and Ten, is a nod to the variety of stores from the early part of the 1900s, once known as “five and dimes.” The store’s logo, an ampersand, cheekily refers to “having everything AND more.” Everything in the store has been edited with a keen eye towards the new and fresh. From adorable children’s Lanvin apparel to Proenza Schouler handbags and beautiful books, Bolke’s new store has a little of everything, and I guarantee you will want it all.

For women, Five and Ten carries The Row, J Brand (exclusive Dallas door for the launch of the line’s new ready-to-wear collection), Boy by Band of Outsiders, and Kenzo, the storied French house’s new collection designed by the founders of Opening Ceremony. Barton Perreira sunglasses are an exclusive to Five and Ten in Dallas. For men, the much-anticipated re-launch of Michael Bastian (2011’s CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year) has landed at Five and Ten, as well as the first full collection from cult swimwear brand Orlebar Brown. Marc Jacobs’s menswear and Band of Outsiders are also featured, alongside shoes by Common Project and Lanvin.

For the home, decoupage and imported goods from John Derian, a selection from Mungo and Maud Dog and Cat Outfitters, stationery including Lanvin and Dempsey and Carroll, and a selection of books are available. Five and Ten will also highlight an apothecary of unique fragrances and candles. Another very cool feature of this charming store is the ability to order bicycles from Italian cult brand Abici as well as music from Dallas’s own DJ Lucy Wrubel.
