DIANE COTTON AT URBAN FLOWER GRANGE HALL

It’s no secret that Urban Flower Grange Hall is my very favorite store in the whole, entire, wide world, (and I have seen the whole, entire, wide world!) Every single piece chosen by owners Rajan Patel and Jeffrey Lee are beautiful and unique. From the candles to the jewels, to the home décor items—the collections in this beautiful store are pure art, and the space feels curated as if placed in a museum with wonderful objects just waiting to go home with you.

Whenever I visit Grange Hall, I gravitate towards the jewelry and I always leave wanting every single exquisite piece. Recently, they hosted a trunk show for jewelry designer Diane Cotton. Cotton’s design philosophy is “everything has a story to tell” and this philosophy fueled her passion for vintage jewelry.

Another passion of Cotton’s is the world of semi-precious gemstones—the beauty found at the depths of the earth has always fascinated her. What makes Cottons pieces so beautiful and interesting is her approach to design. She
researches the colors and mood of her favorite fashion designers before each season and makes sure that each piece she makes relates to current trends. Her jewelry mixes materials such as African beads, vintage millinery feathers,
and 1930’s brass chains. Even though her pieces use vintage materials, her collection is decidedly modern, which can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
