Casa Dragones Tequila is as Sophisticated and Refined as its Female Creator

Berta Gonzalez Nieves is breaking tradition and stereotype by using her extensive knowledge and unparralled passion to become the only woman to date certified as a Meastra Tequilera (Tequila Master) by the Academia Mexican de Catadores de Tequila. It’s impressive in any industry, but even more so in one controlled by men, and within which only a few men also hold the honor.

Berta knew at a young age that tequila was in her blood and would be her chosen profession, and after spending 10 years as a top executive with Jose Cuervo International, she set out to create her own super-premium Casa Dragones Blue Agave Joven tequila.

Joven is an official classification for tequila, but not commonly produced because it is a meticulous and lengthy process. It’s aged over 5 years (Repasado is only 2) in American oak barrels, after undergoing small batch production using the finest blue agave from Tequila. This is not tequila you need a chaser with. Instead, it begs to be sipped on its own, with big wild flower, orange blossom and vanilla aromas followed by vanilla and spice on the palate without the harsh bite some tequilas have on the aftertaste. Each crystal bottle is hand engraved, hand-labeled, numbered, inspected and signed to ensure the quality. Cinco de Mayo is a time to celebrate Mexican heritage and pride, the backbone to how Casa Dragones was created, and available now throughout Dallas.
