Horn can take your cherished family antiques and bring them back to life by re-imagining their appearance. She then uses good old fashioned elbow grease and a savvy painters sensibility to update and personalize what may have been a dated or worn piece.

Her designs are stunning, and she recently won 2nd place in the National Dwell with Dignity competition for designers, for a reclaimed and repainted orange chair with the finishing touches you expect. She began her focus on furniture last year , and has had great success combining her love of fine interiors and painting.

Nicole is a Dallas native with a BFA in painting from the University of Kansas. She has spent her life in antique stores around the world. Her mother, Karen Cullum inspired and taught her about timeless design and gave her a passion for interiors. “I love roaming around antique stores and estate sales. If I had to pick one, it would be The Mews off of Oak Lawn and Riverfront. It’s a large multi-vendor antique booth that brings a beautiful range of treasures from around the globe. I walk through the aisles and I feel like every corner has something interesting waiting to be found.” said Horn. Her background in painting, allows her the ability to provide custom solutions for your interiors that have the “WOW” factor.

In addition to Modern Relics, Nicole co-curates the Magnolia Gallery, in Dallas’ West Village with her husband Scott Horn. The Magnolia Gallery features local Dallas Artists. The distinction of this gallery is not only the local artists, but the 30-70 split they offer to artists that are shown in the gallery. The gallery believes in creating a symbiotic relationship with its artists and supporting their needs as well as the whole. They have featured many great local artists like, Ange Fitzgerald, Jayme Nourallah, and Cathey Miller. Currently, they are showing Mark S . Nelson; a modern surrealist with vivid works that have extraordinary detail.
