Alice + Olivia + Magnum Ice Cream

Stacey Bendet, from Alice + Olivia has gotten herself into a sticky situation. Magnum, a popular ice cream company in Europe asked Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet for a little design help, and Stacey is very happy to oblige. During New York Fashion week, this September, the designers will reveal a mini-skirt in honor of the icy dessert.

You may be wondering why Stacey picked a mini skirt. Well, Magnum will release a new mini ice cream, which is why Ms. Bendet designed a mini-skirt. While the chocolate covered icy treats aren’t a household name in the U.S. like Blue Bell, the brand has been gaining notoriety lately and most noticeably with the fashion elite.

Just last year the ice cream makers, commissioned Karl Lagerfeld to direct a series of short films starring CW’s Hart of Dixie star Rachel Bilson. There are still no details on the actual skirt, however, here’s what the designer had to say about the upcoming pairing, “Magnum approached us about doing a collaboration for the launch of their mini. I loved the idea because it was this sort of decadence and drama, but it’s also something really cute and adorable, which is a lot of times this juxtaposition I like in clothing.” So far, Magnum is in pretty good fashionable company. We can’t wait to see who they team up with next.
