In February of this year, Christie’s held an auction that now holds the world record for the most valuable private collection ever sold, one that included an outstanding Modern and Impressionist art collection and seemingly priceless pieces of decorative arts.  This auction was a sale of the contents from the private estates of Yves Saint Laurent and his lifelong partner, Pierre Bergé. Now emptied of their treasures, The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé by Robert Murphy explores the duo’s eight shared homes, studied in meticulous detail as captured by photographer Ivan Terestchenko after Saint Laurent’s death in 2008.

Tis the Season to Lunch

As if ladies need an excuse to glisten and gather, but the holidays bring extra cheer to the occasion and in this case, a local celebrity spotting.  And, of course, putting fashion-lovers in the T Room of Forty Five Ten, where PinkMemo held a private holiday luncheon last Friday, is demonstrably as dangerous as it sounds. After a fantastic lunch of curry chicken salad, warm tomato soup, and toasted panini, we couldn’t keep our hands off the fur, shoes, and of course, jewelry by Elizabeth Showers, which served as the perfect appetizer to the collections presented at her Fashion Dish luncheon this week.
