Spring in Your Step
LINUS LOUNGE
Gear up gals because it’s time to sport some major footwear this season. Linus Lounge, the European inspired shoe salon known for its twice-yearly ‘The Art of the Shoe’ presentation, is about to unveil its Spring 2008 collection. What to expect? Owner and shoe aficionado Kristen Radakovich says that “spring 2008 is all about style, comfort and versatility.” The spring collection will feature designers such as Barbara Bui, Franziska Hubener, Rupert, and Gil Carvalho. Radakovich describes Barbara Bui style as ‘refined rock chick’ with a fantastic sense of elegance. Brazilian shoe designer Franziska Hubener’s (who was just named as one of the 10 most important accessories designer in the world and is assuredly the next big thing) designs are all about vivid color, detailing, and femininity. Rupert’s style for the season is featuring patents and bright color. Gil Carvalho’s spring focus is comprised upon wearable, chic flats and sandals that can go from car-pool to lunch date, to lounging poolside. Another spring trend that is still very much current is the platform and Radakovich says, “it’s definitely not going away.” (Phew!) The Lounge will start the public viewing of their spring collection starting March 11th thru May 17th.
