New York, London, Paris, Milan and Dallas! Yes, we get to join an elite group of fashion insiders this month for a real Fashion Week extravaganza! Celebrating the 50th Anniversary for Dallas Market Center, join Dallas International Fashion Week at the Fashion Pavilion for four days of designer fashion shows highlighting the Spring/Summer 2008 collections.
 
     
 
So, let’s skip fall, let’s fast-forward and get a real glimpse of the latest fashion trends and style that just hit every major runway across the world. Designers, models and celebrity sightings are heading to Dallas in the DiFW Fashion Pavilion at the Trade Mart Center. Check-in early for pre-show drinks at the Praeda Ultra Lounge and sip cocktails in style, enjoy a massive bar, live DJ, plasma screens, interactive sponsor booths and special display areas. If you need a little pampering Mary Kay cosmetics will be offering styling tips, products and gifts for guests and a team of professional make-up artists led by world renowned artist Luis Casco will be backstage styling the models. Inside the pavilion a 64-foot runway with VIP seating for 500 guests will host International models such as Helena Hudova, Nicola Breytenbach, Aneta Kuklova and Katie Rost. Don’t forget about the daily celebrity studded after-parties as well as charity-fundraiser trunk shows that will be held at various locations throughout Dallas.

DiFW will kick-off with an opening party and the schedule of runway shows will include fashion icons Bradley Bayou, Nicole Miller and Alvin Valley including local Dallas designer Abi Ferrin, Project Runway designer Malan Breton, celebrity designer Jamie Pressly for J’aime Collection and international designer Farah Angsana Paris Couture.

THE DALLAS FASHION AWARDS – 32nd Annual
Sunday, October 21: 6:30pm
In conjunction with DiFW, Dallas Market Center will present The Fashion Excellence and Rising Star Awards at the 32nd Annual Dallas Fashion Awards gala. Honorees include Neiman Marcus for The Fashion Excellence Award and Philip Lim for The Rising Star Award. The Dallas Fashion Awards will be held in The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart including a silent auction, dinner and awards ceremony. The event will benefit Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS and the Fashion Group International of Dallas scholarship fund. Tickets for the event are $135 and tables of eight are $1000.

FASHION WITH A PASSION
Chi-Omega sorority at SMU blasts off the school year with their philanthropy for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This annual fashion show features apparel from Shak by Stanley Korshak, Martin+Osa, Elements, Abi Ferrin and Sebastian’s. It’s taking place on October 25th at Umphrey Lee on the SMU campus from 7pm – 9pm, so save the date! Watch Chi-O models strut their stuff while nibbling on some tasty treats and mingling with friends. There will even be a Make-A-Wish speaker to tell their story of survival and the importance of MAW in their lives. All proceeds benefit MAW and the show is open to SMU students, Chi-O alumni, and the Dallas community. Come support the Chi-O women and Make-A-Wish Foundation on October 25th!
