Tastemakers Take Over Chicago Fashion’s Night Out

The stylish set came out in droves on Michigan Ave. to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out last Thursday. My first stop? The 900 North Michigan Shops fête hosted by celeb and fashionista Ali Larter was a must-attend. The scene here at theWit VIP Lounge was buzzing with tunes from DJ Megan Taylor, somber autumnal colors in leather and knits sashaying down the runway, and what else, well-dressed Chicagoans killing it.

The highlight of this over-the-top event was spotting Azeeza Khan, Creative Director behind the Vogue-approved label AZZA, who stopped indoor traffic in one of her very own statement-making, frothy concoctions.

Glossed and Found’s fabulously fun photo booth provided appropriately cheeky captions for guests to play with, like “I put the chic in Chicago” and “Too Haute to Handle.” And the perfect trifecta––manis, massages, and makeovers provided by Mario Tricoci Hair Salon and Day Spa and Bloomie’s––capped off The 900 Shops’ FNO soiree.

I followed the party down to Topshop, where trendy nail art was happening and shopped a style edit curated by the Vogue team. Further down on the Mag Mile over at Saks Fifth Avenue, another rockin’ party was hosted by Chicago power team/gals-about-town which included Amanda Puck, Samantha Saifer Berngard, and Susanna Negovan. The after party continued at Bar Toma, a Chef Tony Mantuano restaurant, with Prosecco and complimentary bites of charred octopus and the creamiest, melt-in-your-mouth goat cheese I think I will ever taste.

The theme of the night––no matter which FNO party you were at––is that Fall 2012 is trending in opulence.
