Ikram Goldman’s Red Box Opens

The new ikram, affectionately titled “the Red Box,” opened yesterday morning ending months of anxious speculation within the international high fashion industry about how Ikram Goldman’s new store would look and feel. The three-story complex is encased in deep red panels interrupted by large circular windows, featuring abstract red shapes vaguely resembling a curvilinear “I.” The entire first floor is dedicated to women’s fashion. The layout features jewelry cases in the center filled with designs from designers like Meadham Kirchoff and Erickson Beamon while clothing is nestled in along the wall.

Up a deep red staircase are three of ikram’s new features; a gallery wall containing photographs by her husband, Josh Goldman; a small home accents section featuring vases, picture frames, and candles; and a cafe overlooking Huron Street. It will be exciting to see how this new incarnation of ikram will continue to strengthen the Chicago fashion scene!
